AhlulBayt News Agency: Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, head of the Education and Higher Education Authority at the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine and a member of its Board of Directors, met with Iraqi desalination and sustainable energy expert Professor Adel Sharif Al-Husseini to explore avenues of cooperation in advanced energy technologies.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammed Hassan Jaber, head of the Development and Sustainable Development Department, where Professor Al-Husseini presented his innovations in seawater desalination, high‑efficiency treatment systems, and his pioneering research on generating electricity using gravity.
During the discussion, the professor’s expertise in sustainable development and the use of artificial intelligence to address water and environmental challenges was reviewed. Professor Al-Husseini—awarded the title “Pioneer in Renewable Energy” in 2018—holds over 25 patents and 200 scientific papers, founded the Center for Research on Interoperability at Surrey University in the UK, and currently serves as scientific advisor to the Iraq Development Fund.
Professor Al-Husseini praised the projects of the Al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine and Al-Kafeel University, affirming the potential for future collaboration in the fields of sustainable energy and water solutions.
